KARACHI: Faysal Bank Limited reported a net profit of Rs10 billion for the first half of 2026, while profit before tax stood at Rs20.5 billion, reflecting continued balance-sheet growth despite lower market rates.

The bank’s earnings per share reached Rs6.60, while its board declared a second-quarter cash dividend of Rs1.50 per share.

Faysal Bank said total assets crossed Rs1.8 trillion during the period, supported by growth in deposits, current accounts and transactional business.

Deposits increased by 9.5 per cent to Rs1.56 trillion, while current accounts rose by 21 per cent to Rs646 billion. The current account ratio improved to 41.4 per cent from 37.5 per cent in December 2025.

The bank’s current and savings account ratio, commonly known as CASA, strengthened to 86.8 per cent from 81.9 per cent.

Its advance-to-deposit ratio declined to 51.7 per cent from 61.1 per cent, while the infection ratio remained at 2.3 per cent, indicating stable asset quality.

Faysal Bank also completed the issuance of a Rs7 billion Tier II Sukuk, strengthening its capital base and supporting future growth.

The bank attributed its performance to the expansion of its Islamic banking franchise, a growing branch network, disciplined risk management and increased focus on digital, women-focused and customer-centric financial services.

Group Chief Executive Officer Juma Abul said the bank’s performance reflected the strength of its strategy and successful transformation into a larger Islamic banking franchise.

He said the group remained committed to Pakistan and supported the bank’s long-term expansion plans.

Faysal Bank Chairman Mian Muhammad Younis said the results demonstrated the progress of the bank’s network-led growth strategy and efforts to build a stronger low-cost deposit base.

President and Chief Executive Officer Yousaf Hussain said the bank would continue to focus on trade-driven growth, regional operational hubs, Islamic banking products and disciplined execution.

The results position Faysal Bank to build on its branch expansion, deposit growth and Islamic banking operations during the remainder of 2026.
