Kaspersky Next Gets AI Upgrade for Faster Cyber Threat Detection
Kaspersky Next adds AI-powered cyber threat detection with enhanced EDR and XDR security capabilities for businesses

ISLAMABAD: Kaspersky has upgraded its Kaspersky Next cybersecurity platform with expanded artificial intelligence capabilities designed to improve cyber threat detection, speed up investigations and help security teams identify potentially compromised accounts.

The update comes as businesses increasingly turn to Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) technologies to strengthen their security operations. According to a Kaspersky study, one in three companies plans to integrate EDR or XDR into its security operations centre.

Kaspersky said the latest release brings significant AI, EDR and deployment improvements to Kaspersky Next Expert, which is designed for enterprises. The wider Kaspersky Next product line also includes Kaspersky Next Optimum, aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.

A major change is the migration of Kaspersky Next EDR Expert to the company’s Open Single Management Platform (OSMP), bringing security tools including Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP), EDR, XDR and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) into a single management console.

The platform allows Kaspersky and third-party security solutions to be integrated into the same console, while Single Sign-On provides access between OSMP and Kaspersky’s Anti Targeted Attack and Network Detection and Response interfaces.

Kaspersky said the new architecture could also lower infrastructure requirements for large deployments. According to the company, resource requirements can be reduced by up to 30% for Kaspersky Next EDR Expert users and by up to 60% for Kaspersky Next XDR Expert users.

The latest release also expands the use of AI in detecting suspicious activity. New capabilities include identifying DLL hijacking attacks and automatically generating alerts when such activity is detected.

Another AI-based mechanism is designed to spot potentially compromised user accounts. It establishes a baseline of normal login behaviour and uses correlation rules to identify unusual activity that could indicate account theft.

Kaspersky has also integrated its Investigation and Response Assistant, KIRA AI, into Kaspersky Next. The generative AI-powered assistant is designed to help security operations centre analysts interpret obfuscated command lines, analyse security incidents and produce concise reports.

The company says the technology is intended to reduce analysts’ workload while allowing security teams to investigate and respond to potential threats more quickly.

Speaking at the InfoSec 2026 conference in Pakistan, Kaspersky Security Consultant for Pakistan and Afghanistan Anas Naseem said combining SOC tools on a single platform with stronger AI and EDR capabilities could improve the speed and precision of threat detection.

“By unifying SOC tools within a single platform and enhancing EDR and AI capabilities, we enable faster, more precise threat detection, as well as more efficient operations,” Naseem said.

He added that AI could help cybersecurity analysts become faster and better-informed defenders as organisations face increasingly complex digital threats.
