LAHORE, Oct 17 (ABC): TMUC Higher Education Group celebrated the Class of 2026 in Lahore at a landmark graduation ceremony that brought together distinguished academic leaders from Pakistan and the United Kingdom, international education partners, faculty, families and graduates in a powerful celebration of achievement, ambition and globally connected higher education, according to a press release.
The ceremony was graced by Mian Imran Masood, former Minister of Education of Punjab, as chief guest, alongside Professor Anthony Woodman, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, University of Hertfordshire; Professor Lyndsay Duthie, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Academic Partnerships and Industry Engagement, University for the Creative Arts; Mr Saad Wasim, Regional Advisor, South Asia, University of London; and Mr Waqar Shah, Deputy General Manager, Pearson Pakistan.
Hosted under the leadership of Dr Faisal Mushtaq TI, Founder and CEO of The Millennium Education Group and TMUC Higher Education Group, the ceremony marked two major milestones in TMUC’s international academic journey — 10 years of partnership with the University of Hertfordshire and eight years of collaboration with the University for the Creative Arts.
Opening the sequence of addresses, Dr Faisal Mushtaq reflected on the changing purpose of higher education in an era being reshaped by artificial intelligence, automation, entrepreneurship and rapidly evolving professions.
“A university’s greatest ranking is not in a magazine, but in the employability of its graduates,” he said, emphasising that the graduates of tomorrow must combine academic excellence with creativity, adaptability, communication, leadership and global confidence.
Addressing the Class of 2026, Professor Anthony Woodman placed particular emphasis on employability, ambition, adaptability and an international outlook, reinforcing the importance of universities preparing graduates not simply for their first job, but for careers and industries that will continue to evolve throughout their lives.
Professor Lyndsay Duthie further highlighted the increasing importance of creativity, industry engagement and innovation in a technology-driven world, with her presence marking eight years of academic collaboration between TMUC and the University for the Creative Arts.
The ceremony also heard from Mr Saad Wasim, representing the University of London, and Mr Waqar Shah of Pearson Pakistan, bringing together perspectives on international higher education, qualifications, skills and the future of learning.
Concluding the addresses, chief guest Mian Imran Masood congratulated the graduating class at a defining moment in their academic and professional journey, joining TMUC and its international partners in recognising the transformative role of education in developing confident, capable and future-ready young people.
The Lahore graduation brought together graduating cohorts from TMUC Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujranwala, celebrating years of academic commitment, resilience and achievement across disciplines.
More than a ceremonial milestone, the occasion reflected TMUC’s vision of an internationally connected higher education ecosystem in Pakistan — one where global academia, industry, creativity, technology and employability converge to prepare graduates for a world without borders.
